Mass spectrometer detector ICP-MS Sampling cone Custom Processing
Sampling cones are usually made of metals such as Ni, Al, Cu, Pt, among which Ni cones are most used. In order to meet the requirements of the ICP-MS ion collection interface, the sampling cone needs to have several characteristics:
- Maximization of the passage of generated ions;
- maintaining the ionic integrity of the sample;
- Keep the yields of oxides and secondary ions as low as possible;
- make the secondary discharge of the plasma as small as possible;
- Resistance to blockage;
Technical requirements:
Different types and materials of sampling cones are available for different sampling needs and sample types. For example, in some ICP-MS instruments, a sampling cone with a diameter of 1.0 mm will be equipped with a sharp edge of the hole to prevent clogging, and a copper chassis with a nickel cone tip has good thermal conductivity.
Material:
stainless steel
Application areas:
Sampling cones are widely used in environmental monitoring, soil testing, water quality testing, laboratory and industrial fields to collect and analyze a variety of liquid, solid and gas samples. In practical applications, it is necessary to select the appropriate sampling cone according to the specific needs and working conditions, and optimize the structural design to achieve efficient and stable particle sampling.
